I'll be damned. This thing better outperform the Radeons with 16 pipes... dual procs and a 256 bit mem bus. Only 4 AF though? That's a shame.
I kind of thought that too, but it really does depend on what the quality of their 4xAF looks like and I'm holding off on any rushes to judgement. (Compare how nVidia's 8xAA looks worse than ATi's 4xAA and such, mebbe XGI's 4xAF will be comparable to ATi's 8xAF? I'm just guessing and thinking out loud, I haven't seen it yet....but the FSAA excites me! ) _________________ BluePhoenixTuly 1.4Ghz, TUSL2-C, 512MBcas2, 9600 Pro,ATi TV-wonder VE, TBSC, DVD, 10/100NIC, 60GB Bubbles3000+ Venice @ 2.43Ghz, TT Venus 12, K8NS Ultra-939, OCZ EL platinum rev 2 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC3200, 256MB Radeon X800 TT (520/560), Audigy2, Altec-Lansing ADA885, TV, DVDR, 80GB, 200GB, 200GB BlackwellBarton 2500+, K7N2-L, 2x256MB PC3200, 6800GT, Fortissimo II, DVD, 10/100NIC, 80GB WD w/8MB cache Kitty2400+, ECS K7S5A, 1Gb, GF4 ti4400, SB-live 5.1, 60GB, TV-card, 10/100 NIC, QuickCam

SSAA is all good and well (you should probably edit the original post to say SSAA not FSAA if you're thinking along the lines I think you are by the way), but it'll absolutely destroy the performance - Put the Volari cards up against any DirectX 9 card that uses MSAA it'll be made to look totally inferior as far as performance goes. _________________ Desktop #1: Athlon 64 X2 4200+ | Asus A8N-SLI Premium motherboard | 2Gb Corsair PC3200 DDR-RAM | 2x BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC 256MB (SLI) | Hauppage WinTV + Radio PCI | SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty | Creative Inspire speakers | NEC ND3540-A dual-layer DVD Writer | Pioneer 16x DVD | 74Gb S-ATA Western Digital Raptor | 250Gb + 180Gb + 60Gb hard drives | Iiyama HM903DT B 19" CRT monitor

Mr. Lin told me it was only marginally slower than ATi's solution, so we will see. (BTW-Changed and thanks for the correction. ) _________________ BluePhoenixTuly 1.4Ghz, TUSL2-C, 512MBcas2, 9600 Pro,ATi TV-wonder VE, TBSC, DVD, 10/100NIC, 60GB Bubbles3000+ Venice @ 2.43Ghz, TT Venus 12, K8NS Ultra-939, OCZ EL platinum rev 2 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC3200, 256MB Radeon X800 TT (520/560), Audigy2, Altec-Lansing ADA885, TV, DVDR, 80GB, 200GB, 200GB BlackwellBarton 2500+, K7N2-L, 2x256MB PC3200, 6800GT, Fortissimo II, DVD, 10/100NIC, 80GB WD w/8MB cache Kitty2400+, ECS K7S5A, 1Gb, GF4 ti4400, SB-live 5.1, 60GB, TV-card, 10/100 NIC, QuickCam

A card that can do Super Sampling AA as fast as Multi Sampling? I highly doubt that. The industry moved towards MS because the performance hit was much less then SS. However MS looks worse, so solutions were put in place to fix up image quality on MS systems. Anyway, if it works, great, but I am skeptical! _________________ AMD AthlonXP 2100+ MSI KT6 Delta-LSR 1GB PC-2100 DDR-SDRAM ATi Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB
