Meh. Wait for Ivy Bridge. The price/performance ratio on these is just too slim for most.

Ivy Bridge should come out after april... q2/2012.

There´s nothing wrong with buying a socket 1155 Sandy Bridge right now though, the cpu itself is quite cheap and you can replace it with an Ivy bridge cpu and keep using the same motherboard/ram/gpu.

If you are insist on waiting for it though, you may be able to get a next generation gpu too around q2 2012

Depends upon what SB CPU you're talking about. $900-$1000 for the entry level hex core or $1300-$1400 for the extreme edition. Really? That's not cheap. Not by a long shot. Unless you're doing some serious video encoding, #D modeling/animation, CAD/CAM or molecular/scientific research. There's no reason to move beyond an i5 dual core model. I've yet to see any game even touch all the cores on any of the i7 models.

I was talking about socket 1155 SBs. Not socket 2011 SB-Es.

Ivy Bridge will be for the mainstream 1155 socket, Ivy Bridge-E will be again for socket 2011.
